Weekend Preview
Team LNT: Two places at once
Team LNT’s logistics crew have had their work cut out organising this coming weekend. They literally are in two places at once as the British GT squad head to Snetterton in Norfolk and the two Le Mans Series cars head out to Germany and the Nurburgring circuit.
Overall grid numbers will be back up to a more respectable number with 28 cars entered at Snetterton. The Team LNT Panoz set the pace in the last round in Mondello Park with two pole positions and two wins, but Eclipse Motorsport and Rollcentre Racing return with Scuderia Ecosse to increase GT2 competition.
Following an extensive test at the circuit last week, Team LNT are quietly confident that a repeat of Mondello Park with back-to-back wins is not out of the question. “Snetterton is a very fast circuit and we expect the Ferrari to be strong here, but testing has shown us to be strong too” said Kimber-Smith.
“The Ascari’s have been amazingly fast in testing here as well, so I expect Luke and I will be racing the GT3s for an overall win too.”
Meanwhile, the Le Mans Series enters its third round of the European championship. The #82 Panoz of Lawrence Tomlinson and Richard Dean are joined by fellow Yorkshireman Marc Hynes who is making a guest apperance. They are looking to narrow the four-point deficit behind championship leaders Autorlando Sport and claim the first Team LNT Le Mans Series win.
Warren Hughes and Rob Bell hope to join their team-mates on the podium this weekend after two doses of bad luck in the previous two rounds did not allow them to finish.
